CHICAGO (Feb. 11, 2008) – U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Thomas Rongen is featured in CoachesNet’s “Starting XI,” providing insight into his coaching philosophy as the team prepared for their latest trip to Mexico for the Copa Chivas tournament in Guadalajara.

In the “Starting XI,” available exclusively on ussoccer.com, coaches answer 11 questions focusing on a wide range of subjects, from coaching education and youth development to modern technology in the game of soccer.

“At the end of the day, the great coaches are organized, they’re proactive and they’re good managers of people,” Rongen said (watch).

Driven to give coaches greater insight into how the U.S. National Teams train and operate, CoachesNet and “Starting XI” is a resource like no other (sign up). Rongen interview is the fourth installment of the “Starting XI” series (watch), which previously featured U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bob Bradley.

“If there is one area where we need to still improve is getting better coaches on the ground floor and the grass roots level between the ages of 8 and 12”, says Rongen (bio) when answering questions about coaching education.
