Quote Sheet: USA vs. Canada Pre-Game Quotes
Head coach TONY DICICCO:

On the goal of his team coming into the tournament:
Our goal was to get into the World Cup, so we have accomplished that, but we obviously want to be champions of CONCACAF. In order to that we have to be very good against Canada tomorrow.

On the difficulty of the tournament so far:
I think we’ve played good soccer, and haven’t had easy games. Our game against Mexico was very difficult with the crowd and they have talented players. The games were not easy, even though you may look at the scores and think that they were.

On tomorrow’s opponent:
Canada is well-organized, they’re fit and they’re combative. We need to be quick and we need to play our style of football and we have to take our chances against them. I think it will be a very difficult game, and I think it will be a full 90-minute battle or more. We have to be fully prepared.

Midfielder and captain KEELIN WINTERS:

On the goal of the team coming into the tournament:
Our first goal here was to qualify for the World Cup, and now that we’ve done that we want to focus on tomorrow’s game against Canada. We want to be the best in CONCACAF.

On how the team feels physically and mentally:
Our team is feeling good. Playing four games isn’t easy and we’re still trying to recover a bit, but I think we’re going to be ready to go tomorrow. Mentally, I think we’re always there. I think that’s one thing that the U.S. always brings to every game – that we’re always mentally there. I think we’re definitely ready.
