  Player Registration

The United States Soccer Federation registers players under two categories as defined by FIFA: non-amateurs or amateurs. Non-amateurs or professionals, are registered directly by US Soccer through its professional leagues. Amateurs are categorized into two areas: amateur and youth. Amateur players are registered directly by the United States Amateur Association and youth players are registered directly by United States Youth Soccer.
 
Note: US Soccer has received notification from FIFA that the guidelines used to register players is being modified and as soon as those FIFA modifications are received, these modifications will be posted on this web site.
