Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 U.S. Soccer Werner Fricker Builder Award, honoring the late U.S. Soccer President Werner J. Fricker.

U.S. Soccer's National Council has unanimously approved the addition of Donna E. Shalala to the Board of Directors as the third and final Independent Director. Shalala has been the President of the University of Miami for more than seven years and has more than 25 years of experience as an accomplished scholar, teacher and administrator. In June 2008, President Bush presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award.
In recognition of his guidance, perseverance and dedication in establishing the sport of soccer in the United States, former president of the U.S. Soccer Federation Werner Fricker will be honored during a ceremony on Sunday June 15 before the U.S. Men’s National Team’s FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Barbados.
In a continuing effort to improve ussoccer.com, U.S. Soccer is asking fans to take part in an online survey. The feedback from the survey will help U.S. Soccer determine fans media consumption habits in order to better cater to the fans’ wants and needs.
