Historic Match Against Cuba Awaits

HAVANA, Cuba (Sept. 6, 2008) - The journey to the 2010 FIFA World Cup resumes on Sept. 6 when the U.S. faces Cuba, an historic trip and their first to the island nation for a qualifier in 61 years. Following their arrival Thursday, the team held training at the stadium on Friday. Kickoff at Estadio Pedro Marrero is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN Classic and Galavision. Fans can also follow the match live on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.

D.C. United won their second Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory against the Charleston Battery in front of their home fans at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.
