Alex Morgan’s 42nd minute strike in the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup final was deemed the Goal of the Tournament by voters on FIFA.com. The goal, which would eventually be the game-winner in a 2-1 championship win over Korea DPR, was Morgan’s fourth of the tournament.
The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team got goals from Sydney Leroux and Alex Morgan, both first-half strikes from outside the penalty area, to defeat Korea DPR 2-1 and win the 2008 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup.
